267,000 sqft facility completes |

Wykeland is continuing to counter the current downturn in the economy with activity at it's Meltonwest business park.
Since the laying of the first spade in January 2008, more than 400 people have been employed in contruction works on the site, with approximately £30m invested to date.
Waykeland was pleased to commence the development and announce the instruction of Melton-based form CR Reynolds Ltd to construct the 1/2 km spine road, drainage and structured landscaping together with a 40,000 sqft distribution facility for Hull based company Paragon.
CR Reynolds Managing Director Chris Reynolds said; "This is a prestigious development right on our doorstep and we are delighted to have successfully won the first two contracts at Meltonwest and hope they will be first of many".
Prominant signage towards the A63 on a brand new leading edge 267,000 sqft chilled, frozen and ambient distribution facility signals the imminent completion of Heron Foods new premises.
During construction, the Heron development created more than 200 construction jobs, predominantly with local contractors working for the principal contractor Volker Stevin. A further 40 construcion workers are currently on site, building a 15,000 sqft facility due to be completed in the coming months.
Wykeland's high quality "next generation" Business Park at Meltonwest replicates it's success at Grimsby's Europarc, which is being developed in partnership with Yorkshire Forward.
Dominic Gibbons, Development Director at Wykeland commented; "We are extremely pleased with the success at Meltonwest, particularly in what are challenging times. In less than two years there has been more than 335,000 sqft buildings constructed with detailed consent granted for a further 28,000sqft for a local business."
He added, "We feel our flexible approach to property development and understanding of local business needs has been instrumental in Wykeland being able to continue to develop and attract interest when the market has been somewhat diffilcult". |
