Expanding space for Packaging operations |
Mondi Packaging expand with Wykeland |

Mondi Packaging Wheatley, which has been based in Wykeland's property in Scunthorpe for 21 years, has announced the expansion of its production operation in to a further 12,000 sqft of space resulting in the creation of an additional 30 jobs.
The company produces plastic flexible packaging, mainly for the food market. Andrew Chappell, Managing Director of Mondi commented " The expansion has done because we are a highly productive and efficient manufacturer of packaging products".
Wykeland originally developed the estate of 18 business units in the 1980's when a small local packaging company, Marc Wheatley took a single unit. The company soon expanded and was taken over by global packaging company Mondi, and throughout the growth Wykeland was able to provide additional space. Peter Last, Operations Director added, "The expansion of this business has been facilitated and supported by Wykeland. Their team has project managed the expansion of our factory, whilst leaving us to get on with what we know best".
Rob Richardson of Wykeland said, "It's a joint venture between Wykeland, as property owner, and Mondi as the operator. It all adds up for us. Mondi as a successful business is committed to occupying the Premises long term and so it's of benefit to us to invest in the site to allow their expansion". From the original single unit, Mondi now occupies 15 units on the Business Park with Wykeland undertaking the works each time an expansion was required, which also included the creation of a new head office facility.
