New Cycle bridge is latest addition to Green and Groundbreaking travel initiative |
|
Since the conception of Europarc, Wykeland and Yorkshire Forward have strived to minimise environmental impact whilst also creating an accessible and attractive place to work. The result has been a groundbreaking Sustainable Travel Initiative that is being seen as best practice accross the country. This has now been further enhanced with the opending of a new foot and cycle bridge, which will provide easier travel links for workers and encourage them to take a greener route to work.
The scheme already provides a dedicated Travel co-ordinator who works closely with all the businesses on the site, and internet based car sharing scheme and an improved bus service. This is in addition to other green initiatives such as rain water harvesting, PIR lighting and use of solar energy in new offices. Wykeland has also worked hard accross the site to create an attractive environment and a natural feel with over 20% of the site landscaped. There is also a four-acre country park around a lake with paths, provide a relaxing environment for those working on site.
At the opening were Ivan Hinchcliffe, Europarc Travel Co-ordinator, Anthony Snell North East Lincolnshire Council Transport Officer, Jan Anderson and Lisa Childs of Yorkshire Forward and Dominic Gibbons of Wykeland. |
