Good Progress on Flemingate Beverley |
Changes to development proposals go on display |
|
The developers of the £120m Flemingate scheme, CP Group, Wykeland Group and Quintain Estates and Developments, have amended the proposals following a public consultation exercise conducted last year and comments from English Heritage, the Council and other consultees.
The proposals, which include new shops, a hotel, new homes and a cinema close to the town centre in Beverley, have been slightly revised to reflect the feedback received from local people.
The changes include revisions to the college, cinema and hotel, with increased pedestrian linkages to the town centre.
Dominic Gibbons of Wykeland Group said:"Following the vast amount of feedback we received from local residents and other constultees, we have made a number of small, but beneficial changes to the proposals. For example, the hotel will now be double fronted, looking on to a new public square, shops and the college. This alteration is to reflect some of Beverley's traditional streets and buildings."
Over 1600 people attended the exhibtion held last year and over 1100 people completed consultation response cards, 81% were in favour of the proposals with 16% against.
The plans will be on display in the Leisure Centre in Beverley on Monday 28 January from 1pm to 7pm and the plans will then be on display in the Library and online on the link below
