One of Hull’s best known family companies is the latest in a string of big name businesses to announce a move to Bridgehead – the north’s ‘most sustainable’ business park.
The John Good Group, which can trace its history back over 180 years, is to relocate from Maritime House, Kingston Street, Hull, to a bespoke 8,600 sq.ft. office complex on the business park, designed and built by leading commercial developer Wykeland Group.
Grant Edmondson, head of property and asset management at the Wykeland Group, said the move underlines Bridgehead’s ability to attract top class companies and secures its position as one of the north’s premier commercial developments.
Along with the John Good Group, East Yorkshire house builder Beal Homes completed a move to the business park earlier this year and award winning laser manufacturer, Rofin Sinar, will relocate to a bespoke office, research, development and manufacturing facility on the site in 2015.
And the speculative 16,000sqft Jack Brignall House is now under offer with a growing local company.
Mr Edmondson said: “The John Good Group has a long and prestigious history in Hull so it is a matter of great pride that they have chosen to continue their association with the region at Bridgehead.

The main contractor, Hull-based Hall Construction Group, has started work on the new office this month and is expected to be finished by November this year.
The John Good Group intends to relocate to Bridgehead over the Christmas period to kick off the New Year in its new head office.
The company operates from 16 sites across the UK, including Immingham, Manchester, Tilbury, Felixstowe, Leeds, London and The Tyne, as well as international bases in Izmir, Istanbul and Shanghai, meaning good transport links were an integral factor in identifying a new office location.
Alan Platt, managing director of the John Good Group, said: “As the John Good Group has expanded over recent years we have outgrown our head office at Maritime House and so needed to find somewhere new.
“Bridgehead is the perfect location because not only does it mean we are closer to the motorway network and Humberside Airport, we are still within easy reach of the Humber’s port complex.
“Working closely with Wykeland Group means we have been able to design an office that precisely meets our needs. It comfortably accommodates our current team but also means we have the space to continue growing.
“We could not have chosen a better location than Bridgehead and we’re extremely excited about seeing work start on site.”
Bridgehead is located between the northern approach roads to the Humber Bridge and has been designed with input from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to enhance and protect local wildlife through a combined biodiversity, landscape and drainage strategy.
As well as employing the latest in renewable energy technology, the wider site includes 8,000 new shrubs and hedgerows, 4,500 herbs and bulbs and more than 200 new trees which enhance and supplement the existing natural landscape.
